Workshop description

Mist-Lining is an innovative, non-invasive method for structurally reinforcing canvas paintings. It provides support without allowing adhesive to penetrate the original or lining textile, making it ideal for treating a variety of works, from historic and modern easel paintings to large-scale canvases. With numerous adjustable variables, this versatile system offers a comprehensive approach to treatment, addressing challenges in manageable steps and treating individual issues separately before the lining process.

To fully utilize Mist-Lining’s capabilities, training and guidance from experienced practitioners are essential.

Programme

Kate Seymour from Art Conservation Education (Maastricht) with the collaboration of Francesca Bettini (Opificio delle Pietre Dure – Ministero della Cultura) will lead a 3-day intensive workshop on Mist-Lining for canvas paintings.
