Methods and Tools for Drafting Preventive and Programmed Conservation Plans

Course description

The advanced course aims to provide methodological and operational tools for drafting preventive and programmed conservation plans, with reference to methodologies and tools for analysis and risk assessment applied to cultural heritage. The advanced course is part of the training activities dedicated to risk management in cultural heritage, in the pre-emergency phase focused on programmed prevention and maintenance.

The initiative arises from the need to offer an advanced level training path, focused on methodological and operational tools for risk analysis and assessment, in consistency with international standards and with the operational needs of museums and cultural institutions.

The course integrates theoretical approaches of international origin with practical applications on real cases, favoring an operational vision oriented towards the planning and priority of actions over time. The overall structure of the course is conceived to first provide a solid methodological basis, founded on internationally recognized principles and models, and subsequently to allow for an application-based verification of the skills acquired, through the drafting of a plan by the participants themselves. The target audience consists of professionals who work or collaborate with cultural institutes and sites (art. 101 Legislative Decree 42/2004) including those who are part of the National Museum System of the Ministry of Culture.
