Workshop description
The course aims to disseminate best practices in the prevention and management of emergencies in archives and libraries, for safeguarding and restoring paper, parchment, books, photographs and multimedia items. After addressing legislation and exploring existing electronic resources and case studies, the course analyses and simulates the emergency chain, actively involving students in the process.
Target audience
The course is designed for specialists and professionals in the field (restorers, restoration technicians, art historians, architects, scientists, registrars, museum curators and cultural heritage professionals) and for anyone wishing to update their skills and knowledge in the context of cultural heritage restoration and conservation.
Programme
1st module – theory (4 hours)

Prevention and rescue operations in an emergency for archives and libraries: approaches and operational tools.
2nd module – practice (5 hours)
The practical exercise will be held using disposable samples of archive materials, books, photographs and multimedia materials.

The course can be purchased in its entirety (122 euro) or choosing only the theoretical module, available physically and on line (70 euro)
The course will be held if and when the minimum number of participants is reached
An attendance certificate will be issued
