
Andrea Cagnini obtained a PhD in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Florence and has been working as a scientific expert at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure since 2005 He is currently the Director of the non-invasive testing sector of the Institute’s Scientific Laboratory.
He has participated in numerous national and international research projects regarding the application of new diagnostic methodologies and the evaluation of innovative treatments for the conservation of artworks He is an instructor at the School of Higher Education of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure (of which he is also Associate Director) He is the co-author of more than 150 publications in the field of cultural heritage conservation
