Giulia Fraticelli

Giulia Fraticelli holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage Studies from the University of Florence, and later specialized in the conservation of paper and photographic materials through the advanced training program (LMR/02) in the conservation of paper, photographic, film, and digital materials at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence. Her thesis focused on the use of nanostructured hydrogels for the cleaning of albumen and gelatin photographs.

Since 2016, she has been working as a freelance conservator and restorer of photographic and paper materials for private clients as well as Italian and international institutions, including the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence, the Fondazione Fratelli Alinari per la Storia della Fotografia, the Museo Galileo, and the Opera del Duomo in Florence. Alongside her professional practice, she is actively engaged in research and teaching, delivering training courses on the identification and conservation of photographic materials.
